Our Golf Cart
The golf cart is included with your rental to make getting to the beach or the area shops a breeze! The cart is provided by Destin Paradise Rentals. You will only have access to the golf cart if you complete their waiver and provide the required documentation HERE.
The golf cart key is located in the lockbox inside the front seat of the cart. Please check your email for the lockbox code if you provided the necessary waiver and documentation.
Golf Cart Rules
- Remember, it is a registered vehicle that requires a valid driver's license and insurance to operate.
- Driver must be 21 years or older.
- May only be driven on roads with a speed limit of 35 MPH or lower while following normal rules of the road and must always be kept on the road (do not operate on sidewalks). You may cross a road with a higher speed limit (such as route 98) as long as the road you are coming from and going to have a speed limit of 35 MPH or less and you cross with the flow of traffic.
- Remember to plug it in after every use and always park it in the garage for overnight and long-term storage. The cart can take a few hours to fully charge.
- Do not move the windshield up or down while the golf cart is in motion (it can break).
- There is a flipping hazard with golf carts, please take corners slowly.
- Guest assumes responsibility for any damages, missing keys, or towing due to running out of a charge.
Want to rent an extra cart during your stay? Call (850) 332-4298 and our friends at Destin Paradise Rentals will get one to you in no time!
Golf Cart Troubleshooting
- The battery gauge on the digital screen of golf carts is notoriously inaccurate. For the most accurate battery reading, please refer to the red light bars on the side of the dashboard.
- The golf cart should be able to go about 25-30 miles on a full charge depending on how much weight is on the cart during operation. The cart takes a few hours to charge, so remember to always plug it in when not in use.
- If it runs out of charge and you need to push it, open the middle seat battery compartment and locate the switch on the right side. Flip the switch all the way down to put it into neutral (be careful, as this will disengage the brakes!)
Pool Information
- Per Florida safety regulations, there is a child pool alarm on the patio door, rear door of the garage, and all windows in the living/dining room.
- Window alarms will sound immediately upon opening and can be silenced by entering code 1234 after closing the window.
- To use either door:
- Press the bypass button on the alarm before opening the door.
- Walk through door.
- Close door behind you (within 7 seconds).
- If door alarm sounds, close the door and press the bypass button to silence.
- The pool may be optionally heated and/or cooled for an additional fee to keep it at just the right temperature between March 1st - November 31st each year (as long as sustained outside temperatures remain above 50 degrees).
- The pool light is automatic and cannot be turned off for safety reasons.
- Pool cleaning occurs twice per week. The pool cleaner will not need to enter the home. Guests cannot be in the pool during pool cleaning.
Beach Information
- The beach can be accessed near the Whale's Tail restaurant or Pompano Joe's restaurant. These are both about 0.8 miles to the left or right when you turn onto Scenic Gulf Dr. from Miami St. Free public parking is available at both locations.
- CLICK HERE to determine the current condition of the water at the beach and review safety information or text "SAFETY" to 31279.
- Please also review this handy Beach Guide if you'd like to learn more about beach rules and information.
Trash Collection
- Trash collection occurs on Mondays and Thursdays, typically early in the morning. Please make sure the trash barrels are brought to the end of the driveway the night before to ensure trash is collected. Otherwise, barrels should be left in the garage when trash is not being collected.
- Please also remember to bring the barrels back to the garage by the end of the day on Monday/Thursday or our HOA will fine us....I wish I was joking! :(
- I'll send you courtesy reminders the night before and the night of trash collection. If you've already taken care of this, you can just disregard!
Ice Maker
The ice maker on the fridge has been disabled and there is a separate ice maker in the pantry, across from the fridge. Ice maker should remain plugged in and turned on with the metal bar inside pressed down to make ice. We also provide an additional countertop ice maker for rapid ice creation. Just add water directly to the front water basin and it will being to make ice very quickly for you.
Propane for Outdoor Grill
There are extra propane tanks for the outdoor grill located in the garage. If you exchange a tank, please let me know so I can order a new tank for future guests (at no charge to you of course). Nobody wants to run out of gas in the middle of cooking a delicious meal for their family!
